For another year, Cudeca Institute has renewed its commitment to university training in Palliative Care, thanks to the University of Malaga. For the next academic year 2021-2022, the Universiy of Málaga will once again offer two training courses coordinated by the Cudeca Institute to provide quality training in Palliative Care. Firstly, the Interdisciplinary Master’s Degree in Palliative Care has been renewed, reaching its third edition with the current version this year, after the success achieved in previous years. Secondly, the Interdisciplinary University Expert Program in Palliative Care is also being offered again, which in this case will be in its second edition.

Both training programs are possible thanks to the agreement between the University of Malaga and the Cudeca Foundation, which have been collaborating for almost two decades to make this complete university training possible. The objective in both cases is to provide students with multidisciplinary training, which focuses on collaboration and training of professional teams made up of students from the fields of Medicine, Nursing, Psychology and Social Work. In both cases, 100% of the money raised will finance the work of the Cudeca Foundation hospice in Benalmádena.

Master’s Degree

The Master’s Degree classes will be both online and onsite, as in previous years. Its main asset is the commitment to research in the field of palliative care, a discipline that develops every year with the implementation of new techniques and knowledge. This Master’s Degree enjoys a long history of prestige, endorsed by the University’s teaching team, which also has the support of the medical team of the Fundación Cudeca hospice. Pre-enrolment period for the master’s program will open on June 1st and close on September 18th. Enrolment will be formalized in September. The total cost of the Master’s Degree is 2,400 euros, half of which must be paid at the time of application.

University Expert program

As for the University Expert program, it is presented as a rigorous way to initiate specialization in the field of Palliative Care. Like the Master’s Degree, it is designed to include students from different health branches, with emphasis on the functioning of a multidisciplinary Palliative Care team. This is a fully online course, which is offered on the University of Malaga’s own platform. Pre-enrolment period will open on June 29th and will close on September 10th. Enrolment will be open from September 13th to October 23rd. This training is priced at 980 euros of which 600 must be paid at the time of application.
